well, my sewing situation is complicated. :)
when i sew i usually borrow my moms/melodies (its a cheap, frustrating machine that usually still manages to get the job done).
i do own an old, old old ancient BLACK sewing machine that was bequeathed to me by an adopted grandmother. it's sopose to be quite good but i have no clue how to use it.

I totally understand your situation. I had an old one given to me as well...it was way too complicated and my little sewing brain could not understand the thing at all. I usually just borrowed my moms, or went to her house to do my sewing.
My mom just bought me a Kenmore (51 Stich function) for my birthday. Best gift ever! It works really well. I've been wanting a sewing machine for ages, now I just have to learn how to sew better.
